In his second "Mexico Conversation" of the week, Carlos Navarro will shine a light on the changes López Obrador's six-year term introduced to the nation's political system, public administration, and foreign policy.
Session 3
Friday, September 14, 2025 – 10:30 AM to noon
President Sheinbaum: Continuation or Curtailment?
In this last "Mexico Conversation" of the week, Carlos Navarro will provide the keys to understanding and assessing the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum, one year after taking office. Her supporters speak proudly of a highly educated and determined woman head of state who will continue building Mexico’s Fourth Transformation. Her critics claim her government is merely Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s second term, in which he is still calling the shots. Many others hope that she will proclaim her autonomy and finally rid the country of abuse, mismanagement, and corruption.
