Meet Carlos Navarro
Welcome to Connect With Mexico!

My mission to bridge the gap between Mexico and the English-speaking world was sparked by a simple conversation with a friend from the US: "Carlos," Kody said emphatically, "I love hearing about Mexico from you, in English. You should give lectures about your country."

Kody's suggestion perfectly aligned with my career: I spent years explaining Mexico to the world—first as a member of the US Government's intelligence community, creating analyses for US policymakers, and later as a strategist at the Office of the President of Mexico, conducting government business with foreign diplomats.

As a former expatriate myself—living in the United States, Colombia, and Panama—I deeply understand the concerns, challenges, and aspirations of the expat communities I now teach through Connect With Mexico. I've been in your shoes.
I was born in Puebla and hold a BA in Communication Studies from the city's University of the Americas. I've also earned various English language certificates. Critically, this education was enhanced by the vigorous training programs I coursed through my duties in both the US and Mexican governments.

My professional life has also included a passion for media, working as a news reporter at my local Televisa station, a production coordinator at TV Azteca Novelas, and a corporate video producer. In 2016, I moved to Puerto Vallarta after 20 years in Mexico City, and it was here that I was prompted to found Connect With Mexico.
The result of this journey is Connect With Mexico: a commitment to provide the nuanced, expert insight only a native and former insider can deliver.
