In mid-December, Carlos Navarro will be again visiting Ajijic, Jalisco. Expats there voiced their interest in learning about Mexican muralis, artisans, and contemporary artists making a difference in the Mexican art scene.
Join us 10, 11, and 12 December to experience "Mexico Conversations" and be inspired by art pieces big and small and to discover the stories of the art masters of Mexico.

MEXICAN CREATIVE ARTS
Discover the captivating story of Mexico through the lens of its immensely talented artists and their beautiful works. In this 3-session workshop, Carlos Navarro will guide you through the groundbreaking work of Mexico’s gifted, multidisciplinary artists in the decades following the pivotal Mexican Revolution of 1910. You will discover how their creativity and skill defined the complex identity of “what it means to be Mexican.”
Session 1 > Muralism.

We will immerse ourselves in Mexican Muralism—the monumental, public art that served as a visual history textbook for a nation, revealing intricate and often unexpected anecdotes of the post-Revolutionary era.

From the exquisite geometry of Talavera pottery to the vibrant colors of folk art, we will explore the astonishing skill of Mexican artisans. These tangible works—in clay, steel, textiles, and much more—offer an intimate definition of the nation’s spirit.
